Here is my philosophy when it comes to Steadicam gear:
I understand that time is money. Producers, directors, and cinematographers want to spend as little time as possible on setting up or trouble shooting gear.
This is why I am only using state-of-the-art, top-shelf equipment. All of my gear is specifically designed to be set up and broken down quickly. Low mode in under 2 minutes? No problem. I have bags full of spare parts should anything malfunction on set.
Want to do some very low or very high shots with a Super Post? I have a second, dedicated sled that I will set up at the beginning of the shoot to minimize changeover time.
I am using a Steadicam Volt System to keep that horizon level at all times and own multiple Kenyon Gyros for windy days at the beach or for car work.
Chrysler Town & Country Minivan. I can self-transport and report to set in the greater NYC area (production covers gas/parking/tolls).
